The candidates who are declared by UPSC as having cleared the written exam are called through “Call Letters” to appear in 5 days tests at SSB (Allahabad/Bhopal/Bangalore/Mysore/Varanasi/Dehradun) 4 categories of tests:

National Defence Academy (NDA)

The National Defence Academy of India located in Khadakwasla, Pune, is a joint services academy where cadets of the three wings Army, Navy and Air Force are trained together before they go for their pre-commission training to their respective academies. It covers an area of roughly 8300 acres.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian military cadet corps. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools and colleges.

Indian Navy

The Indian Navy is the naval branch of the armed forces of India. With 55,000 men and women, including 5,000 naval aviation personnel and 2,000 Marine Commandos (MARCOS), it is the world's fifth largest navy.
